1. Smiled, coming across English phone booths in every town.
2. English is spoken everywhere.
3. Easy driving, generally more considerate drivers who mostly use turn signals, and very good road conditions.
4. Parking spots are difficult to find, but at least they were free everywhere, even in all but one overnight lot, which we found to our dismay!
5. The country of Malta is comprised of the main island, also called Malta, and the neighboring islands of Comino and Gozo. The distances were so small on each, visitors could easily hop from spot to spot.
6. Many of the churches were just gorgeous - hard to grasp just how many there were, with one often visible from another, and often two to a small town.
8. I noticed no churches other than Catholic and, likewise, no other religious institutions except one mosque in Valetta.
9. Spotted many religious images on doorways.
10. Large religious statues are common on street corners.
11. Police stations are uniformly navy blue.
11. National Lottery offices in each town.
12. CCTV cameras are visible everywhere!
13. Couldn't help but admire the brightly-colored enclosed balconies, which were so representative of Malta.
14. Monumental temples that wowed us time after time.
Your travels are always so interesting. One day I would love to go myself.
